WL Conference 2014 019

Taskforce Chair Hamish Sandison along with LFIG Monthly Editor David Phillips discussing the Special Report on Public Procurement with Shadow Welsh Secretary Owen Smith MP

As Welsh Labour party members convened for the Welsh Labour Party Conference in Llandudno on the 28-30 March, Labour Finance and Industry Group was proud to launch the public consultations on the Report on Using Public Procurement to Promote Labour’s Values. LFIG is proud to be co-sponsoring the Taskforce that is writing this report with the Society of Labour Lawyers.

LFIG discussed the Report with Shadow Secetary of State for Wales, Owen Smith MP and Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones AM.

Additionally, the Taskforce’s Chair and LFIG Executive Committee Member Hamish Sandison chaired a discussion on infrastructure needs in Wales with Welsh Economy Minister Jane Hutt AM as well as representatives from the South Wales Chamber of Commerce and Heathrow Airport.

Turnout to the LFIG conference exhibition was high and we look forward to Welsh Labour Conference 2015!
